How I Read

Well, my love and obsession for reading, mainly fantasy, started out with the Percy Jackson series during 5th Grade. I loved the movie so much, and decided to try out reading the books. However, my reading got tinted with a tad of darkness due to the way I deal with life, starting off with 13 Reasons Why during 6th Grade.

My perspective in reading, writing, and speaking have changed and improved or evolved overtime. So now, my current favourites are fantasy with angst and a tad of romance. Having things to be fictional helps my mind explore and doesn't prevent it to go wild with the imaginations, which then gives me a wholesome experience as to what is going on in the book.

I think the one thing you just have to know about my relationship with reading is that we're definitely the best of best friends.

The last line of the book is arguably the most important: “So we beat on, boats against the current, borne ceaselessly into the past.”  How does this line embody the thematic conflict that defines  The Great Gatsby ? Pretty much every human being have wished to alter or relive the past do to various reasons, and that arguably important last line in the book relates to that. The saying of not being able to start a new chapter in your life if you keep re-reading the last one is somewhat a connection or behind explanation to it. Finishing  The Great Gatsby , us readers know that Jay Gatsby continued to impress the girl he had a “romantic connection” with from the past, when in the present time, she is already married. One more point is the country he is living in is known as the dreamlike place where many can start over, not knowing reality from dreams.
